A tanulmány átfogó képet ad a hazai felsőoktatás meghatározó tendenciáiról szakmánként. Azt mutatja be, hogy a jelentkezők számát tekintve hogyan megy végbe az alkalmazkodás a tudásalapú gazdaság követelményeihez. Az adatok azt mutatják, hogy a korábban alacsonyabb presztízsűnek tekintett szakmák esetében gyors felzárkózás indult el, míg a 90-es és a 2000-es évek első évtizedének divatos szakmái esetében létszámcsökkenés tapasztalható.

The aim of the paper is to give a comprehensive picture about the Hungarian higher education by professions and to provide a connection between economic policy in the era of the knowledge-based society and the higher education policy. The main statement of the paper is that there are some tendencies in the Hungarian educational system supporting the new economic era, i.e. the increasing number of enrollment in the food engineering or health care services. These show the adjustment process of the education.
