Ez a cikk a magyar rendszerváltozást gazdasági oldalról és madártávlatból tekinti át. Alapkérdése az, hogy a tervezett és spontán folyamatok eredőjeként létrejött magyar modell miért nem felelt meg folyamatosan a társadalom elvárásainak. Bár alapvetően leíró jellegű marad, felveti azt a kérdést, hogy mi hiányzott a célul tűzött szociális piacgazdasághoz.

This article provides a bird’s-eye overview of the Hungarian economic transition from a macroeconomic and historical perspective. Its primary inquiry focuses on why the "Hungarian model"—emerging from the interplay of planned and spontaneous processes—consistently failed to meet societal expectations. While the study remains fundamentally descriptive in nature, it raises the critical question of what essential elements were lacking for the successful realization of the intended social market economy.
